Thankful Thursday #6

 photo IMG_5353_zpsk1e8wcrx.jpg
This is my favorite part of my bedroom right now!

31. Berry season.
32. Audiobooks.
33. Pink lipstick.
34. Betty (my car.)
35. Sharpie pens.
36. Those glittery clothespins and the pictures they're holding up!

Are you shocked that I'm not providing commentary for any of these? I thought I'd throw them out rapid fire, since I'm leaving for Florida in a few hours (for about a 36 hour trip) and still have lots to get done. Including packing. When will I ever learn?!

Shout-out to Elaine, who is blogging again (hooray!), becoming my blogging friend (uh, wut?! Double hooray!) and doing a gratitude project of her own. She's listing things that make her happy, and reviewing a book with fascinating insights about gratitude- like the health benefits! As if you needed another reason to be thankful.

One more thing, because it's the 9th of the month: my one-word-motto for July is listen. Simple. But omg, you guys, I have the worst habit of tuning people out, getting distracted while people are talking to me, and interrupting. Have you realized lately how difficult it is to actually listen to people when they are talking? Especially nowadays, when we constantly have our phone in our hands. Nine days in, this has already been so eye-opening. I'm kinda a jerk, you guys! At least I'm working on it.

Have a great Thursday, and remember: gratitude is as good for you as exercise!*

Really nice thoughts Priya! I think its absolutely important to stop from time to time, to hold stil and to think about all the things we can be grateful for. I usually feel a lot better afterwards :)
I also agree that it is important to listen carefully to others and to practice listening. I think its a great goal for the month of July and for the entire life :)

Your blog is always so inspiring to me! Loving the quote, motto, and rapid fire round! I would have a hard time listening as well... especially with all the multi-tasking we do these days. Good luck with your motto for the month. Also, love the rapid fire round... I listened to my first audiobook on the plane last week. It was really nice a change from listening to same music tracks for the 100th. time and listening to something more enlightening. Have a great trip! :)

These are wonderful things to be thankful for! I'm with you for berry season. Been having large bowls of fresh fruit as a morning snack and loving them. As for listening, I'm pretty terrible at that. I tend to interupt a LOT in order to tell my piece or how that once happened to me too. I can tell I annoy people. Heck, I annoy myself! I wish you the best of luck with your word of the month :)
