Florals for Spring? Groundbreaking.

| necklace: Tiffany's | t-shirt: J.Crew from Carina | dress: F21 from Jamie | flats: ancient AE |

This outfit was born out of a combination of not buying clothes + trying to wear everything hanging in my closet. This dress is a hand-me-down from one of my co-workers, and I love the floral print! Since I wouldn't get away with this at work as-is, I decided to wear it "jumper style", layered over a t-shirt, which is one of my favorite ways to wear dresses, actually! I forgot that this t-shirt is drapey, which is normally awesome, but under a dress ended up looking pretty saggy by days end. In conclusion, I would say this outfit is just ok. Any ideas on how I could style this better? I hate to let a print so pretty go to waste!

Also- shoutout to these flats that I've had since high school. They are finally comfy! I honestly think I did the "they were in style, they went out of style, now they're BACK in style" thing.

And yes, I DID get to wear this on Monday, which was SUCH a beautiful day! After work, Hunter and I ran at the park, then grilled and ate dinner outside. It was really lovely. I hope Spring is finding you wherever you are, too!

Hmm, I see what you mean - maybe it works better with a cardigan on top of the dress!? Or if not, just a tee which is a little skinnier!?
I am so into flowers right now and I am thinking I want to buy everything with flowers on - and then I also think (with lots of irony in my voice): you are sooo creative Larissa, wearing flowers for spring, revolutionary! But hey, it just means that flowers are made to be worn now so we should ALL wear flowers and be happy and enjoy them :)
So try this dress again in another combo and share with us how it looks then! Its a really pretty dress and I am sure you will make a lot out of it :)

You look awesome Priya! Love the dress! I've been trying to wear more items from my closet recently too rather than buying more stuff... although it's hard there are so many nice things in stores at the moment xx

I love that print! But I see what you mean about the top underneath. I say go brighter and tighter girl! Or maybe a black and white striped top? I can't wait to see what you come up with!

With a drapey top like that you could always wear it over the dress - that would make it "work appropriate" coverage wise but still let you have that great floral print for a skirt. Love flats that stand the test of time!

I love when people layer t-shirts under dresses like this! I've always found it so cute! Hmmm...maybe add a belt?

yay for florals + shopping your own closet! I think a blazer is an instant weekend --> work day outfit fixer!

Thanks for being so thoughtful Larissa! I think a cardigan over top is a good idea.

"Brighter and tighter" and b&w stripes are both GREAT suggestions! Thanks girl!

That is a great thought! I really like tying t-shirts over dresses as well. Thank you!

A blazer would be super cute over this strappy dress, thanks Jessica!

I agree, I think the tee is a little too baggy for the small tank style of the dress. Maybe your lavender tee from your velvet skirt outfit? Or like Jessica said, a blazer over the top would work :)
